Lelo Ina Review

It’s no surprise that Lelo is one of the most popular sex toy manufacturers out today.  Each having an intuitive design, rechargeable battery and smooth high-grade silicone finish (not every toy has this feature, but most do) every toy by this company emits a sense of playful class we don’t see often enough.  Of course, sex toys nowadays are becoming more ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing, but Lelo was one of the main incubators of this very important trend.

While each of Lelo’s high quality toys has their own unique charm, one of the most popular (and one of my personal favourites) is Ina.  Made from high-grade silicone with a smooth plastic handle this rechargeable dual vibrator provides both vaginal and clitoral stimulation for your most erogenous zones.

To be honest, I was ecstatic when I received this sex toy.  I am a huge supporter of this company and everything they create despite the high price point (i.e. depending on the store, Ina can cost between $150 and $250).  For many people looking to buy sex toys, this price point is a major turn off but when you consider the workmanship, efficiency, overall quality and customer satisfaction Lelo provides Ina is practically a steal.

Available in three vibrant colours — lime, orange and purple — Ina is striking even in its luxurious, minimalist box.  Inside is a black  box containing Ina (have fun with the plastic container, it’ll become your worst enemy), a black satin pouch for safekeeping, a charger, a 10-year quality guarantee (and one-year warranty) and a small book of information about the Ina and how to care for it. This should go without saying but, please, take advantage of that warranty right away.  It’s so easy to forget about registering and then, eventually, losing the receipt.  Save yourself that stress.

Don’t expect to use this toy right away.  When I got mine, I had to charge it for 2 hours prior, which wasn’t the biggest deal but if you are in a hurry to use it don’t expect that battery life to last long.  If you are patient (it’s not easy but entirely possible!) you can expect the battery to last up to 4 hours depending on how you want your speed intensity to be.  Personally, I prefer a mid to high setting in my vibrators so battery life is roughly 3-3.5 hours which is actually pretty good for a sex toy.  And, of course, it’s not like you’ll have to worry about buying batteries for that next charge, everything here is rechargeable — how convenient!

Getting Ina started is quick and easy.  The toy will most likely be locked when you get it so hold down all 4 buttons for 3 seconds until the LED light turns on and you’re good to go.  If you’re taking Ina with you on a vacation always make sure to lock it by, once again, holding down the 4 buttons.  It will stop your Ina from randomly turning on in your bag or luggage.

Ina has two separate motors — one in the shaft and another in the clitoral stimulator so the vibrations and pulsations never lose intensity in spite of the other. In addition, Ina has 8 pulsations modes which you can control via the up and down arrows.  These modes include:  constant shaft and clitoral stimulation, constant shaft stimulation only, constant clitoral stimulation only, rapid pulses that alternate between the motors, synchronized rapid pulses in the shaft and clitoral stimulator, slow shaft stimulation with quick pulsations in the clitoral stimulator, slow stimulation in the shaft and the clitoral stimulator and random patterns of pulses and vibrations in the shaft and clitoral stimulator.  Each of these modes is extremely stimulating so it’s worth checking out all of them.  And if these pulsations are too strong or weak you can always change  the intensity by holding down the “+” or “-” buttons until you’ve reached your preferred intensity.

One common criticism has to be Ina’s clitoral stimulator.  While intuitive in angle, it can put a lot of pressure on the clit and can even be a little uncomfortable.  Personally, pressure is one of my favourite parts about external stimulation but even this took some getting used to.  After a few readjustments, I was able to get the stimulator in a comfortable position, so keep in mind  it will take a little bit of experimentation before getting the angle just right.

Aside from the slight hiccup, the shaft’s overall girth and curve is stimulating and the bulbous tip hits the G-Spot perfectly.  Another wonderful feature has to be Ina’s silky smooth high-grade silicone finish which is hypoallergenic, antibacterial and non-porous.  If you are someone who’s sensitive to certain materials or are looking for a sex toy that won’t harbor any bacteria, high-grade silicone is a must-have.  One thing worth mentioning, never use a silicone lubricant with a silicone toy, stick with a water-based lubricant (my favourites are Boy Butter H20, FleshLube Water or Liquid Silk).  Silicone lube will permanently damage the so if you plan on spending your hard-earned cash on a Lelo product, make sure you remember this helpful tip!

Ina is also very easy to clean.  While using an antibacterial, unscented liquid soap is entirely cool you’ll see more lasting results purchasing a toy cleaner like Pjur Med.  Pjur Med not only cleans your sex toy efficiently it also reduces body odor, has an antibacterial effect, is dermatologist tested and is free from alcohol and perfume. Pjur Med also comes in a handy spray pump so you can expect to have this cleaner for a while.

Ina is phenomenal.  The intuitive curves are fun and stimulating and once the clitoral stimulator is positioned properly it adds even more stimulation to an already sensational toy.  In addition, the plastic handle is sturdy and easy to handle, plus the menu is extremely easy to navigate through and customize to your needs.  Of course, taste is relative so my experience with the Ina may be different from the next woman’s, but Ina has already gotten so much positive buzz that you can expect to have a great time with this one.
