If there’s one thing I hardly ever use, it’s lubricant. Even so, I’ve always had an interest in lubes, experimenting with a slew of companies just so I could explore different consistencies. This is more fun than you think considering the huge variety of water-based, silicone-based and hybrid products out there today. Some have been better than others, but they’ve all been interesting in their own way. I guess at the end of the day those interests are all relative — one person might love the silkiness of Liquid Silk, but another might hate it for it’s bad taste. So while I’ve never had to use lube for personal reasons, it’s helped educate me in other people’s wants and needs.
I’ve had enough fun with this to want to review some of these products, and help any of you looking for the right lube/s or just looking for something new. It can be tricky with so many out there, but after lots of patience you’ll find a few that will best suit your situation — whether you’re using your latest Fleshlight, glass dildo, silicone vibrator, prostate massager or clitoral stimulator. Never get frustrated, just keep experimenting and have fun with it.
For my first review in the lubricant series, I’m going to tell you a little bit about a surprisingly nice new hybrid lube by Sliquid: Sliquid Organics Silk.
If you’re not familiar with hybrid lubricants they offer the best of both worlds, infusing both water-based lube and silicone lube. Tired of water-based lube absorbing too quickly and leaving behind a sticky residue? Sick of watery, messy cleanups with silicone lube? Hybrid lube solves all of those problems, leaving you with a lube that’s longer lasting and easy to cleanup. Need I say more?
Hybrid lubes are becoming a hot commodity for many companies, offering an experience many people could only dream of. Of course, it does have its limitations. While not completely silicone-based, hybrid lubes are not totally safe with silicone toys so use at your own discretion.
Another hot commodity on the market today are organic and eco-friendly products. It’s becoming more and more plentiful in the sex toy and lube industry as well, offering more people the option to enjoy their toys/lubes without any skin irritation or sensitivity. It took long enough for these trends to finally come into play, but it just goes to show that, despite some slow progress, changes are being made to adapt to just about everyone’s lives.
Sliquid Organics Silk is both hybrid and organic, offering an experience that’s inspiring but certainly not perfect. While organic lubes are a nice alternative, they also absorb faster and become sticky a lot sooner because of the natural ingredients used. Sliquid’s original organic formula has that problem, but not nearly as much as some other organic products do — hence why they might have experimented with the hybrid formula in the first place.
This organic hybrid lube really pushes the limits in what an organic product can do, fixing some minor problems to create a more well-rounded lube. Of course, not everything can be fixed completely and even with the 12% silicone content in Sliquid Organics Silk, the lube does begin to absorb after awhile. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done whether you’re with your partner or using your toy.
This is a Glycerine and Paraben-free organic lube with plenty of certified organic ingredients including Aloe Vera, Alfalfa, Green Tea, Hibiscus, Flax, Sunflower Seed and Vitamin E to enrich the skin and leave it feeling refreshed.
In terms of cleanup, this lube is very easy to take care of with just some soap and water. There’s nothing better than a no-fuss cleanup.
Alternatives are everywhere now, but rest assure that Sliquid Organics Silk is one worth checking out.
